OWNROOM PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR

Jos Boys trained in architecture at the Bartlett School, University College, London and then worked as an architectural critic, photographer , community activist and researcher. She was co-founder of Matrix, a London-based feminist architects' and researchers' practice, in the 1980s and co-author of their book "Making Space"Women and the Man-Made Environment" (Pluto Press 1984).She was also a co-founder of Cutting Edge, a multi-disciplinary group which produced a series of events and books on the relationships between space, feminism and new technologies through the 1990s.

After the birth of her daughter, Jos settled into a series of jobs in architectural and design education. She is now developing photography and installation as a central concern of artistic practice, particularly exploring gender and the relationships between material, conceptual, personal and social 'spaces'. Jos is a member of takingplace and currently Course Leader for the Foundation, International Foundation and Access into Architecture and Interior Design in the School of Architecture and Spatial Design (ASD), London Metropolitan University.
